What is rebinding?
In this context rebinding (or re-covering) means I am taking a book out of its original case (or cover) and preserving what's called a text block, the content of the story bound together. I create a new case, strengthen the text block, and add any details like a bookmark or endbands. Then I combine the text block with the new case, creating a custom hardcover book.

How does it work?

First, contact me with what book you want to rebind and your initial design thoughts. You can reach me through the Contact form here:  https://theprairierosestudio.com/pages/contact

Together we discuss options and I create a quote for you.
If you'd like to move forward I will create a custom listing for your book.
After your purchase I will begin your project - sourcing materials and working with you to finalize a design. If you are providing the book this is when you will mail it.
Rebinding can several weeks depending on my queue and material sourcing, but can be expedited with a rush fee.
After completion of the project I will ship it back to you.

Do you offer binding?

I am not offering any binding or printing services at this time.

Materials

I source from bookbinding suppliers using quality archival materials.

Covers are made of French goat leather or Italian bookcloth.

Endpapers are often screenprinted or handmarbled.

Endbands are handsewn with cotton embroidery thread, bookmarks are silk, and gilded edges are made using a metallic acrylic paint.

Shipping & Returns

I ship domestically via USPS Media Mail or USPS Priority Mail. For international shipping I use the cheapest option.

I do not accept returns as each item is handmade to order, but please contact me with any issues.

Customize

All books can be customized, contact me for inquiries prior to purchasing!

Above and Beyond Expectations

Wow wow wow wow wow, I don't know if I even have the words to say how grateful and thankful I am to Hannah for the book quartet she rebound for me. My copies of said quartet were so old and worn that pages were falling out and the spine would come apart, so I decided to treat myself by purchasing a beautiful custom set of the books. I am SO glad I did. The quality and attention to detail are superb, and Hannah herself is so kind and professional and an absolute joy to work with. She allowed me to choose absolutely every aspect of my books, and even hand drew the art for the front and back covers of each. She could absolutely be charging more than she does for her work, the quality is as good (honestly maybe even better) than the fancy leather bound books you can get in bookstores. Even the way they were wrapped was so beautiful that I almost did not want to unwrap them. I will DEFINITELY be ordering more rebinds in the future. Thank you Hannah!!! They bring me so much joy!
